What are the TRIBES Agreements?
There are four TRIBES Agreements which students and teachers must follow:
Attentive Listening: Listening to the speaker with your ears, eyes, and heart.
Mutual Respect: Showing respect for yourself, others around you, and belongings.
Right to Pass/Right to Participate: Student has the right to choose the extent to which he or she will share in a group activity.
Appreciation/No Put-Downs: Encourage students to exchange statements of appreciation and to challenge students to prohibit put-down remarks.
In this classroom, the TRIBES agreements will be followed and encouraged by using positive affirmations towards one another in order to create a safe, positive climate; having community circles with our "Thinking Rock" where we will share our ideas; participating in a variety of community building activities.
